The 2021 Reading Charity Art Fair had over 300 excellent exhibits on display and raised £8000 for the Royal Berkshire Hospital Staff Wellbeing Centre in Reading.

You can view the Venue page for more information - all exhibits will be on one level with very good natural and artificial light in the gallery. Refreshments will be available at any time in the Art cafe.

Entry Fees and Commission Charges 

Entry Fees for the 2021 Art Fair are unchanged from 2019 at:

A commission of 25% will be deducted from the sale price of all items sold and this will go to our charities.

We will absorb the credit or debit card charges levied by the banks. 

Paintings dimensions

Small painting           under 650mm x 650mm including frame

Large Painting           under 950mm x 950mm including frame

Folios                       under 750mm x 750mm

Sculptures                must fit into a box 750mm x 750mm x 750mm & not over 7kg

We will also accept unframed prints and these will be displayed with the folio paintings.

Presentation and Profile

We are offering artists the opportunity to have all your paintings hung together alongside your profile and photograph. The cost will be £10.

Delivery & collection of artwork

Delivery is to Leighton Park School as early as possible between 1 pm and 4.30 pm on Thursday 28th October or up to 12 noon on Friday 29th October. Collection of unsold artworks is between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday 31st October. Please also see the Conditions of Entry page on this site.

Judging of Entries

At the Preview evening event the judges will announce the top three entries and will also commend other entries at their discretion.


Large banners will be displayed outside Leighton Park School promoting the event to thousands of motorists and pedestrians. We will also promote the Art Fair to our extensive network of other service clubs in the Thames Valley. In addition, we will be using various graphic display promotions, social media and other Internet publicity.

As in the past, we expect to have press coverage and advertising and to feature on local radio. This year we will be extending the cover on social media.


Mark Wood

As a teacher Mark is passionate about education in the arts and in particular the visual arts. He has taught Art and Photography in a variety of school settings both in the UK and internationally. As an artist his work has been primarily community-centred, running mural projects as a visitor in schools and mosaic art workshops and commissions for an art charity in Nepal. Prior to working in education, Mark worked as a propmaker and scenic artist in the theatre, film and TV industry. His love of art started at school and was further developed through studying Fine Art sculpture in Cardiff. He loves all manner of creative output and finds the fast-changing face of photography as engaged and fascinating as a classic Turner!


Jenny Halstead

Jenny studied art in Surrey and won a guest scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools, before training and working as a medical artist, illustrating surgery and anatomy, also embracing natural history and book illustration, later breaking away from this discipline to develop her own work and to teach. She established Whiteknights Studio Trailin 2001, now in its 21st year, is a Member of the Pastel Society UK and Chelsea Arts Society as well as RGA and HACG. Residencies include The Harris Garden, Silchester excavations (Calleva Artebatum) and Environs and a year recording the High Sheriff of Berkshire, all resulted in exhibitions and publications. In 2020 she edited TheArt & History of Whiteknights (published by Two Rivers Press).

    Banners on display with the help of Reading Borough Council and Leighton Park School.

    Press, Advertising and Local Radio coverage all being sought as in previous years.

    Please ensure that your works of art are delivered between 1 pm and 4.30 pm on Thursday 28th October and if this is not possible by 12 noon on Friday 29th October.
