Charities

The Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh has raised in the region of £500,000 for charity since it was formed in 1989 as well as helping with many local and international projects. We hope to raise over £5,000 from this event. Our expenses are kept to a minimum as Rotarians, their partners, Inner Wheel members and other welcome helpers give of their time freely and we are very lucky to have a number of suppliers and sponsors who either make no charge at all or just a nominal fee. Please see the Sponsors page for more details.

This year the main beneficiary of the Reading Charity Art & Craft Fair is the FEEDING COMMUNITIES Foundation with the remainder of funds raised going to other charities and local communities. The FEEDING COMMUNITIES Foundation  provides frozen meals for vulnerable people using surplus food from catering establishments. See a video about FEEDING COMMUNTIES.

Previous Art Fairs have helped the Royal Berkshire Hospital Staff Wellness, Centre, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Royal Berkshire Charity to buy an Ultrasound Scanner and a Faxitron scanner to improve the detection and treatment of breast cancer. Funds have also been raised for the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice.
